HOT AND COLD AISLE CONTAINMENT

COLD AISLE CONTAINMENT (CAC)

Basic Principle
Rack arrangement for Cold Aisle configuration
Front of servers (cold air intake) Facing each other

Advantages
 Precise control of inlet temperature
 Suitable for rooms with limited ceiling height
 Simple operation with cost efficiency
 Widely adopted configuration

Limitations
 Surrounding room temperature may increase
 Requires proper airflow management

HOT AISLE CONTAINMENT (HAC)

Basic Principle
Rack arrangement for Hot Aisle configuration
Rear of servers (hot air exhaust) Facing each other

Advantages
 Highly efficient heat management
 Ideal for high-density racks
 Maintains a cooler overall room environment

Limitations
 More complex structural design
 Very high temperature inside the hot aisle
 Higher implementation cost
